> BEACHED JELLYFISH CASTING RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
From my childhood, I’ve visited the seaside resort of Fairbourne in Gwynedd - soon to become the first UK habitation to be decommissioned as a result of climate change. In recent years I’ve noticed an abundance of large Jellyfish washing up on the shoreline, a melancholic yet poetic coincidence in a place that will eventually return to the sea.
An proposed body of work casting dead jellyfish washed up on the beaches in North Wales > These initial beach plaster casts will hopefully be the starting point for an extended period of research and development resulting in a series of relief sculptures and new body of work in 2023.
